President's Message

President's Message

I have four more months for my term as President of our Oregon CPCU Chapter.  The past eight months have flown by with much having been accomplished.   We had a very successful I-Day in November 2009 which was put together by the I-Day Committee.  Peter Schmidt was the chairman of that committee.  The committee changed the venue to the MAC.  Our format provided the opportunity for everyone to get at least two CE credits.  AND there was parking for the participants!  Thank you to all who gave to the Food Bank which was the sponsored charity event.  We were able to give the Food Bank $1,500.  This proved to be one of our most generous efforts. Our holiday party was well attended at the University Club.  As always, it is a favorite event.  Our good friends Linda and Larry Boyd made our event possible by sponsoring our attendance. In the coming months, this following is our schedule:
  • 3/11 – Aquariva at the Avalon Hotel 470 SW Hamilton Court off SW Macadam Avenue – Ethics
  • 4/21 – the MAC – joint meeting with Portland Chapter of the Association of Financial Professionals
  • 5/13– Hayden Lake in Tualatin – Business Meeting
  • 6/11 – Installment of Officers

We will be having an opening on the 2010-2011 chapter board.  If you are interested in joining a creative group looking for way to maximize and strengthen our chapter, please contact me at your earliest convenience.   I hope to see you at our upcoming events.
