Work-related respiratory disease, heart disease, cancer, or PTSD are all complex diagnoses. But add in presumption rules and it can feel impossible to make sense of it all. In this one-hour session, we provide an overview of the diseases that are presumed to result from firefighter and first responder employment. We discuss when these disorders can and cannot be presumed to have resulted from the job. Best practices for claim management are explained by experienced SAIF claims adjusters. Case studies are presented to illustrate these complex situations and provide examples for how to best manage these difficult claims.
